Testing Engineer

Salary:  £22,000 - £34,000 pa

The Role Definition 

Reporting to the Head of Product Management, the Testing Engineer represents a key member of Product Engineering team.  The role requires a background that demonstrates strong analytic skills, either via previous work experience and/or current qualifications.  Demonstrable evidence of ability to pick up new skills quickly. 

The successful candidate will be a natural collaborator with a ‘can-do’ attitude and the confidence to contribute ideas to help shape the complete testing strategy of our forward-thinking product.

  • Well versed in the production of test plans
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Good understanding of the software development process
  • Good written and verbal communication skill
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues in all areas of the business

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, complex and dynamic environment
  • The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines


  • Demonstrable experience of working as part of a testing team in a software development environment

Desirable but not essential:

  • Software development experience (at any level) would be an advantage


  • Work as part of a highly motivated and dynamic team with primary focus on the testing phases of the development lifecycle
  • Assist in the development and execution of test plans, both manual and automated based off functional and non-functional design documents
  • Collaborate with product team to understand and prioritise testing efforts
  • Assist with the definition of the automated and manual testing strategies for various test streams (functional, regression, concurrent, performance, security, etc)
  • Flush out edge case scenarios, data inconsistencies and hard to re-produce bugs.
  • Write bug reports with clear and concise instructions on how to re-produce bugs 
  • Define and perform cross browser / device testing
  • Take responsibility for delivery of personal work stack
  • Communicate any issues with work stack in a timely manner
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
