The Business Owner can be any individual with a role in the organisation that involves a sense of operational ownership of the business service affected by the change or a senior management responsibility for availability of a business service.

In many implementation scenarios, the Business Owner is invited to fully entrust the success of the implementation to the Implementation Manager and is thereafter reliant on the Implementation Manager to deliver and report back the outcome.
